Second-track reintegration
If the occupational capacity assessment shows there is no suitable work left inside your organisation, the second track begins: guiding the employee towards work with another employer. The track runs alongside the first track, not after it.

When to use this
When their own work has gone
There is no suitable role within your organisation, not even with adjustments. Then the second track is the logical next step.
After the capacity assessment
If the assessment shows that their own work is no longer possible, the second track starts straight away, even if that is in the third month. At the latest, UWV expects a start within six weeks of the first-year evaluation.
When the first track stalls
There is work, but the return does not get going. An external track gives the employee a prospect and keeps the case moving.
How it runs
- Intake with the employee: what they can do, what they want, and what the functional capacity list says.
- A labour market and career profile, with a picture of promising directions.
- Support with applications, networking and, where possible, a trial placement.
- Regular reporting, so that the file can pass the UWV review at any moment.
For an employee, a second track is difficult news. So what counts is not only whether the file is in order, but also how the conversation goes. The advisers at Going Concern do this daily and keep you informed without you having to watch over the process.
Where this falls on the clock
The Gatekeeper clock runs for 104 weeks. Second-track reintegration is shown in orange; the other three are shown for orientation.

Frequently asked questions
Questions about the second track
Is your question not here? Call +31 71 401 81 41, weekdays from 09:00 to 17:00.
Do we always have to start the second track?
No, but you do have to be able to explain why not. Without that explanation you risk a wage sanction: UWV can require you to keep paying wages for another year.
Does the first track stop then?
No. The two tracks run side by side. If a suitable position does become free within your organisation during the second track, that one takes priority.
Who carries it out?
Going Concern, the reintegration agency within the Arbo Concern group. They also handle third-track reintegration, outplacement, career guidance and the UWV programmes.
